Celebrating World Indigenous Day 2023: Indigenous Youth as Agents of Change for Self-determination
Nepalese Indigenous Nationalities Forum, Australia (NINFA), is hosting World Indigenous Day 2023, with the theme “Indigenous Youth as Agents of Change for Self-determination,” as declared by the UN.
Established in 2006 and officially registered in NSW fair trading, NINFA has been dedicated to promoting Nepalese Indigenous rights and culture in Australia. Through collaborations with various organizations in Australia and Nepal, we strive to support indigenous rights and preserve the rich cultural heritage of all Nepalese Indigenous communities. Since our inception, organizing events like World Indigenous Day has been one of our key initiatives to unite people, advocate for rights, promote culture, and raise awareness of our heritage for future generations.
The purpose of celebrating World Indigenous Day in Sydney is to honor and support the rights of indigenous people worldwide. Recognizing that indigenous communities are an integral part of their land and countries, we consider it our paramount responsibility to celebrate and stand by them. Alongside 12 other indigenous communities, including Bangladeshi Indigenous communities, NINFA has chosen to celebrate World Indigenous Day on August 13, 2023.
Beyond promoting our culture and empowering the younger generation in the pursuit of indigenous rights and equality, NINFA has always been actively involved in supporting our broader community members. As a not-for-profit organization run by Australian volunteers, we come together to contribute physically and financially whenever possible, extending a helping hand to our wider Nepali community. However, such support is not always feasible without the assistance of generous businesses like yours. We are eager to partner with your organization, which will not only enable us to continue supporting our community but also enhance your brand awareness, positive image, and strong loyalty within our community.
